St. Luke’s Seniors Named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists

Will Drapkin ‘24 and Jack Lyons ‘24 were recently named semifinalists in the 69th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. They are among 16,000 high school students nationwide who will compete for one of the 7,140 scholarships.
Will and Jack qualified as National Merit Scholarship recipients after taking the 2022 preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®). Semifinalists represent about 1% of all high school students in the country.
As semifinalists, the students will submit details about their academic records, participation in school and community activities, leadership abilities, and honors and awards. To be considered a finalist, candidates must have an outstanding high school academic record, be endorsed by a high school official, and write an essay.
The 2024 National Merit Scholarships winners will be announced beginning in April 2024.
